Trump Store Unveils Gold Collectible And ‘Trump 2028’ Hat Amid Ethical Scrutiny

  • by

The Trump Store is back in the spotlight with two new releases: a limited-edition Trump Gold Note and a controversial “Trump 2028” hat. Both items are drawing attention not just from fans but also from legal and ethics experts.

The Gold Note, selling for $47, contains 100mg of .9999 pure gold and features Trump’s portrait and the White House. Originally promoted on realtrumpcoins.com, it recently appeared on TrumpStore.com, just as gold prices surged over 20% this year to a record $3,400 per troy ounce.

While it may seem like a collector’s item, the launch has sparked concerns about self-enrichment. Trump reportedly controls around 77.5% of the Trump Store through various business entities and trusts.

Adding to the controversy is the release of a “Trump 2028” campaign hat. Though the Constitution limits presidents to two terms, Trump has suggested he may explore “methods” to extend his time in office, keeping speculation alive.

Ethics watchdogs warn that profiting from politically sensitive merchandise blurs lines between personal gain and public service. While not illegal, experts say it raises red flags about Trump’s motivations.

The Trump Store has previously faced criticism for commercializing the presidency, selling products with government imagery and presidential branding. In 2023, the site earned an estimated $2.7 million in sales.

As Trump gears up for a potential return to politics, these product drops appear to be more than just merchandise—they’re messaging tools fueling his ongoing political narrative.
