The NFL just gave Aaron Rodgers the best excuse to retire

The NFL has provided the former MVP with the ideal justification to save everyone the hassle and simply resign while Aaron Rodgers continues his will-they-won't-they with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

As Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk noted, the NFL has banned Rodger's go-to helmet, the Schutt Air XP Pro Q11 LTD. During the 2024 season, Rodgers donned the model. It's completely unavailable now.

However, this is very fantastic news for Rodgers. Everything he has ever desired is now his: He is a shell of himself on the pitch, which is a valid reason to quit professional football, but the league won't allow him defend himself the way he wants to.

Even when his brain is already mushy, what could be more Rodgers than squabbling over a safety rule that is objectively sound and influences his own health decisions?

Really, you don't see exit ramps like these very frequently. Aaron, make a scene and go away.

Would you really want to put up with a QBR of 48 for another season? Particularly in Pittsburgh, where there won't be any other depressing teams to divert the fans' attention? Hard pass.

The NFL just gave you a very legitimate complaint. Acknowledge that and leave this league forever.
