Steelers Surprise with Sam Darnold Offer
Pittsburgh Steelers are anticipated to offer Darnold, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Despite most league observers expecting him to join the Seahawks, the Steelers are intriguing candidates for Darnold.
The Steelers were expected to re-sign Justin Fields and hand over the offense after he spent much of 2024 supporting up Russell Wilson.
Darnold excelled in his Vikings debut in 2024. Completed 66.2% of his throws for 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He set career highs in all categories, including passer rating (102.5) and QBR (60.4).
The Vikings didn't bring him back because former first-round selection J.J. McCarthy is ready to lead.
Several clubs are after Darnold, including the Steelers.
