LeBron James explains why he doesn't talk to Michael Jordan

LeBron James, a Los Angeles Lakers player, has said he doesn't talk with fellow NBA great Michael Jordan and doesn't expect to till he quits from sports.

Together with Jordan, James is regarded as one of the all-time basketball greats; both athletes regularly rank in the same conversation. James possesses longevity; aged forty, he could exercise the player option in his two-year, $101.3 million deal next season.

Jordan boasts championships on his side; James is stuck on four while Jordan has six crowns from the Chicago Bulls. James credits the Bulls star as his role model even if he might be challenging Jordan's legacy and expects to develop a friendship after he steps away from the game.

James appeared on Tuesday's "Pat McAfee Show" was questioned regarding his relationship with Jordan. "Yeah, we are in a good spot, but we do not communicate," James added. "Because I'm still playing and right now I'm still concentrated on my craft.

The Lakers star answered, "I hope so," when asked whether James and Jordan might develop a friendship going forward. James then likened the circumstances to his complex connection with late Kobe Bryant, which only started until he signed with the Lakers in 2018.

"Me and Kobe never had a great relationship either, unless we were on the Olympic team," James said. "Had a wonderful rapport with them. Olympic teams 08 and 12 respectively. But among us, it was always competitive.

"He was on the West Coast; I was on the East Coast. That's when our connection truly started to improve until I became a Laker and subsequently he retired. "You're a Laker now, you're family, anything you need just call me," he said, welcoming me.

"We were having several talks, and he tweeted, 'Keep on going,' after I passed him in the scoring record. For me, that implies much more.
