Caitlin Clark's former partner puts the record straight on the 'untrue' Angel Reese dispute
Following a foul in the first "Unravelled" women's basketball league, Caitlin Clark's former Iowa Hawkeyes colleague and fellow WNBA standout Kate Martin has downplayed "untrue" rumours of a feud with Angel Reese.
During a 3v3 game between Martin's Laces BC and Reese's Roses, the now-Golden State Valkyries ace fouled the Chicago Sky standout. Reese fell badly from the foul, and social media went crazy about it.
Unfounded rumors surfaced alleging the former LSU Tigers star wanted Martin kicked out of the Unrivaled league.
Reese's long-standing conflict with Clark, with whom she had some fiery encounters throughout their college years, fed rumors. LSU beat the Hawkeyes in the season 2023.
Reese was attacked by some as a result of the rumors; Martin jumped to her competitor's defense, directly messaging an Instagram user who discussed the unfounded allegation.
"Hey man, that post about Angel wanting me out of Unrivaled is absolutely untrue," Martin said in a direct message to the person. "I try to keep out of social media BS but I couldn't let one slide pass. That kind of false information that is out there bothers me.
Martin has gotten compliments for standing up for Reese from internet users. "Kate is an actual person and angel is too! Love both of them," one remarked.
"Boss, Angel Reese gets enough -------- without all the misleading stuff spread out there on her. People like me countless others go so hard for her because of this," another remarked.
