Brett Favre had simple advice for Aaron Rodgers if the Vikings try to sign him.

Released by the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers is currently searching for a new residence.

Given the Minnesota Vikings have been said to be interested in Rodgers, the 41-year-old quarterback might have the chance to follow the same career route Brett Favre did.

Played for the Jets and then the Vikings, Favre sat behind Rodgers in Green Bay until finally taking over the Packers and then retired following the 2010 season.

Rodgers only needs to play for the Vikings next to complete the Favre arc after leaving the Packers for the Jets.

If the Vikings do call with an offer, Favre offered Rodgers some basic guidance.

"By all means sign with them," Favre advised Fox News this week. Their football team is quite outstanding. They are loaded practically in every location.

Favre is correct; the Vikings have great quality in crucial roles and lead with wide receiver Justin Jefferson, hence they are a good team.

But they also have a young quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, who is recovering from an injury and, should he live up to his potential, may represent the organization for years to come. Adding Rodgers to that mix might not be best for the team's future.
