On his present contract, Allen has four years remaining. He will be with the club going through the 2030 campaign now.
Now among the top paid quarterbacks in the league, Allen has an average annual value of $55 million per season. Only Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott averages higher with an AAV of $60 million annually.
With his $230 million contract, Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson owned the prior guaranteed record. With his $450 million contract, just Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has a deal worth more.
The latest the bills have done in recent days is the extension. The team also secured contract extensions with wide receiver Khalil Shakir, linebacker Terrell Bernard, and defensive end Gregory Rousseau.
Allen has been somewhat dominant on the field, yet under his direction the team has not yet qualified for the Super Bowl. Though it made it to the game four straight from 1990–1993, the squad has never taken home a title.
Although the franchise's benchmark will always be that, the Bills obviously rely on Allen taking them there near future.
