Aaron Rodgers to the Giants makes sense for him

SPORTS

The New York Giants have apparently turned to Aaron Rodgers after losing out on Matthew Stafford. From Rodgers' vantage point, this makes sense.

Once he purchased a house in 2023, the future Hall of Fame quarterback would remain in the Greater New York region. Native Californian Rodgers has grown to adore the East Coast. He would have an opportunity to atone with the other team housed in MetLife Stadium.

Should Rodgers get the Giants into the playoffs, the story at the tail end of his career would change. Rodgers is today seen by many as an unbalanced egmaniastic conspiratorial thinker.

But, as Kyrie Irving has taught us, people often pay less attention to the contentious comments you make if you win enough games.

For good reason most leagues are avoiding the Aaron Rodgers experience. Forget the luggage he brings with him. Rodgers has not been a very good quarterback since 2021, really.

In the NFL, that is a long time. Any team would have to be closer to the back-to---back MVP Rodgers of 2020 and 2021 rather than the New York Jets version if they could tolerate Rodgers's regular and strange appearances on The Pat McAfee Show and his eccentricities.

The Aaron Rodgers we saw with the Jets is most likely the Aaron Rodgers we would find with the Giants. Every now and then he still makes amazing throws and plays. He also exhibits reduced mobility and higher turn-over tendency.

He fumbled five times (losing two) and had 11 interceptions, tied for third-most in his career. It is difficult to assume that Rodgers might guide the Giants into contention in 2025 since their roster might be weaker than that of the Jets from past year.
