Chocolate Cake
Over the last several months, this chocolate cake—also known as lockdown cake—made with only three ingredients has gone popular. I tried it out and was pleasantly pleased by how simple and effective it is.
Chocolate Cake
A few biscuits or cookies, baking powder, and milk are all that's needed. The end product is a cake that is tasty, light, and airy. The cake will have an identical flavor to Oreo cake if you use Oreo cookies.
Prep Time: 45 Min
Cook Time: 15 Min
Difficulty: Easy
Cuisine: World
Servings: 8 yields
For the cake: Oreo cookies, biscuits, or any kind of cookie (or mix of cookie types) weighing 350g (12.35 oz) 2 and a half tablespoons of baking soda 1 and 1/4 cups (360 milliliters) of milk
For dark chocolate ganache (optional): Dark chocolate—100g, or 3.5 oz. Half a cup, or 120 milliliters, of heavy cream
For milk chocolate ganache (optional): Milk chocolate, 150 grams (5.3 oz.) Half a cup, or 120 milliliters, of heavy cream
Set oven temperature to 340°F, or 170°C. Melt the butter in a 7-inch (18 cm) round cake pan. Prepare the base by lining it with parchment paper and greasing it.
Crush the cookies into tiny crumbs in a food processor or a Ziploc bag.
After transferring to a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and milk.
After you've got your pan ready, pour in the batter. Bake it for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick removed clean from the middle.
Finish the cake by letting it cool entirely before decorating it or icing it with chocolate ganache.
