Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 has entered its final phase with remarkable momentum. Launched in 2016 under the leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the ambitious reform program is transforming the Kingdom into a global powerhouse across economic, social, and cultural sectors.
In 2024, Saudi Arabia reported that 93% of its performance indicators for Vision 2030 were fully or partially achieved. The Kingdom has surpassed many targets ahead of schedule, including its ambitious economic growth and diversification plans.
The non-oil economy continues to flourish, with a 3.9% growth in 2024. Private sector contributions to GDP have reached 47%, surpassing the target of 46%. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has also more than tripled its assets, now valued at SAR 3.53 trillion, fueling growth in sectors like technology and renewable energy.
Unemployment has dropped to just 7%, meeting the Vision’s target six years early. Additionally, the participation of women in the labor market has surged to 36%, up from 17% in 2017. Women are also increasingly taking leadership roles, with 43.8% in middle and senior management positions.
Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector is thriving, surpassing the 2024 target with 16.92 million Umrah pilgrims. The Kingdom’s cultural heritage has also been showcased on the global stage, with eight sites now on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. New tourism projects like Qiddiya and Six Flags are set to make Saudi Arabia a global tourism hub.
Saudi Arabia is committed to environmental sustainability. Over 115 million trees have been planted, and the country is pioneering renewable energy projects, including the world’s first solar-powered desalination plant. The Kingdom is also investing in green transportation with hydrogen-powered buses.
As Saudi Arabia continues to advance, the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 remains on track to transform the nation. With strong leadership and a clear focus on innovation, the Kingdom is set to become a global leader in multiple sectors, demonstrating the power of ambitious visions to drive real change.
