Rachel Zegler was asked about her forthcoming divisive picture, Snow White.
Rachel as the title Snow White and Israeli actress Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen stars live-action remakes of the venerable 1927 film. Before its March 21 premiere, Disney’s most recent remake generated rather a lot of debate.
Although Rachel and Gal were together at the Academy Awards earlier this month, there have been allegations of the two not getting along because of their claimed different opinions on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Online pro-Palestinian activists boycotting the movie have also severely attacked Gal. The way the Seven Dwarfs are portrayed in the movie using computer-generated imagery has drawn criticism. Rachel has also made remarks regarding the movie that many said to be “too woke.”
TMZ stopped Rachel as she was strolling across Los Angeles’ LAX airport. When asked how she felt about the movie releasing shortly, the singer said simply: “It feels wonderful, thank you.”
Inquiring about the debate around the movie, the paparazzi asked: “What would you say to folks that are kind of just unduly dissecting the film at this point? You have put much effort into it.
Rather than answering, Rachel turned away toward a black SUV she subsequently entered. Disney “scaled back” the Los Angeles premiere among the controversy, reportedly allowing coverage limited to photographers and a house crew.
Speaking on the scaled-back debut with The Hollywood Reporter, Martin Klebba, one of the seven dwarfs Grumpy, offered his impressions. “It truly isn’t going to be a red carpet,” he remarked.
The actor said, “It’s going to be at the El Capitan [Theatre], which is cool,” then “but it’s basically going to be a pre-party, watch the movie, and that’s it.”
