Pune – A sudden bout of heavy rain around midday on Tuesday brought down trees at five different spots across the city, but thankfully no one was hurt. The incidents were reported in the Satara Road, Undri, Lohagaon, Yerwada, and Bibwewadi areas.
Fire department crews raced to the scenes, swiftly clearing fallen branches and reopening roads to traffic. In each case, water had pooled on the streets, slowing vehicles, but the downpour eased after about thirty minutes and no residential localities experienced flooding.
Traffic police confirmed that while major routes—including Jangli Maharaj Road, Karve Road, Satara Road, Shankar Sheth Road, Hadapsar Road, and Nagar Road—saw slower movement, there were no significant jams or disruptions.
Officials from the fire control room praised the quick response of their teams and reminded citizens to stay cautious during sudden rains, especially around large trees and waterlogged stretches.
