Pune News: DRI Seizes ₹10 Crore Worth of Drugs at Pune Airport, Three Arrested


Pune – In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized drugs worth a staggering ₹10 crore from the Pune International Airport. The operation, which unfolded on Monday afternoon, led to the arrest of two individuals who had arrived on a flight from Bangkok.

Acting on specific intelligence, DRI officials from Mumbai laid a trap at the Pune airport and detained the duo shortly after they landed. A thorough inspection of their luggage revealed a plastic bag concealed within, containing what was later confirmed to be narcotic substances.

During the interrogation, the suspects revealed that the contraband was to be delivered to a contact in Mumbai. Following this lead, the DRI team swiftly moved to Mumbai and detained a third individual linked to the drug network. Drugs were recovered from him as well, further tightening the case.

In total, authorities have confiscated 10 kilograms of illegal substances. As per officials, the seized drugs have an estimated value of ₹10 crore in the international black market.

This crackdown has sent shockwaves across security agencies and highlights the increasing use of Indian airports as conduits for international drug trafficking. Officials have confirmed that further investigation is underway to identify the larger network involved.
