India Post GDS Recruitment 2025 Update: The Department of Posts has already released two merit lists under the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment drive, through which many candidates have secured selection. However, thousands of aspirants are still waiting for their names to appear — and the upcoming Post Office 3rd Merit List may finally bring good news for many of them.
According to media reports and ongoing selection procedures, the third merit list is expected to be released very soon, possibly within May 2025.
Why the 3rd Merit List is Coming Soon
The second merit list was officially released on 21 April 2025 in PDF format on the India Post’s official website. Since then, document verification for the selected candidates was carried out and reportedly completed by 6 May 2025.
Now, with the verification done, India Post is likely to release the third merit list anytime this month. Reliable sources suggest that internal preparations are complete and the list could go live shortly.
Who Will Be Selected in the 3rd Merit List?
As per India Post’s rules, the selection is based solely on marks obtained in the 10th standard. Candidates with higher scores stand a better chance, but reserved categories, state quotas, and regional availability of posts are also taken into account.
Interestingly, in the third list, candidates with slightly lower scores may also be considered if seats remain vacant after the first two rounds.
What Happens After the 3rd List is Out?
Once the Post Office 3rd Merit List is released, candidates must:
- Immediately check the list to see if their name is included.
- If selected, they will receive a date and instructions for document verification.
- Final selection is confirmed only after successful document verification, which includes original Class 10 marksheet, Aadhaar card, and other necessary credentials.
Failing to verify documents within the given deadline may result in disqualification.
