Following the conclusion of the Western drama series Yellowstone, actress Kelly Reilley has disclosed that she will be working on two new and interesting projects this year.
Kelly Reilly, who played Yellowstone on the famous series, is about to embark on not one but two massive new ventures after leaving the show.
Due to her outstanding performance as the powerful Beth Dutton on the popular Paramount+ series that came to an end the previous year, the actress has gained a lot of recognition for her work. Despite the fact that fans are already aware that Kelly will reprise her role as Beth alongside Rip Wheeler, played by Cole Hauser, in their own Yellowstone spin-off series that has not yet been given a title, the actress is not limiting herself to just one project.
Under Salt Marsh is the name of the new television show that Kelly is going to star in, and at the same time, she will also be appearing in a movie opposite Samuel L. Jackson and Boyd Holbrook. In the upcoming film, Samuel plays the role of Walter, a disgraced former White House chef who is given the responsibility of cooking meals for individuals who are now scheduled to be executed.
He makes friends with Reed, who is participating in a hunger strike because he is under the impression that he may not be guilty of the crime for which he is being accused. After some time has passed, Walter joins forces with Hannah, a character played by Kelly, in order to strive toward the goal of providing the inmates with dignity and hope while simultaneously confronting the politically motivated director of the facility. It is now in the pre-production stage of the film, which is being titled Last Meals. There is no official completion date for the film at this time; however, we can anticipate hearing more about it very soon.
In the meantime, Kelly will play the part of Jackie Ellis, a former detective who is now a teacher, in the new drama series ‘Under Salt Marsh’ that will air on Sky. “Under Salt Marsh is an engrossing crime thriller that takes place in the fictitious town of Morfa Halen, which is located in Wales,” the synopsis states.
“As a storm that only occurs once in a lifetime begins to gather in the ocean’s depths… It appears that Cefin, an eight-year-old student, had drowned, and the body of Cefin is found by Jackie Ellis, the instructor. The finding causes shockwaves to be sent across the neighborhood, reviving the ghost of an unresolved cold case that rocked the town three years ago. This case was the disappearance of Jackie’s niece, Nessa, which resulted in the loss of her job.
In light of Cefin’s passing, Jackie’s former partner, Detective Eric Bull, is called back to Morfa Halen to take charge of the investigation into a community in which he had previously been unsuccessful. Due to the fact that Jackie and Bull are convinced that the cases are connected, they need to make amends and work together to unearth long-concealed secrets within Morfa before the storm bursts and all of the evidence is lost entirely.
In spite of the fact that Under Salt Marsh has not yet begun production and will not be released to the public for some time, Kelly has a lot of things to concentrate on after what some people consider to be an abrupt conclusion to Yellowstone. It was rumored that the real-life actor Kevin Costner had a disagreement with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, which led to the death of the main character, John Dutton, which ultimately led to the conclusion of the Western drama.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor provided the following explanation: “I’ve never had an issue with Kevin that prevented us from working out over the phone… When attorneys become involved, individuals are prevented from communicating with one another, when they begin to say things that are not true, and when they attempt to transfer blame based on how the public or the press appear to be dealing with the situation.
He proceeded by saying, “He took a lot of this on the chin, and I don’t know that anyone deserves it.” It would appear that [Horizon] is a very important priority for him, and he is looking to change his attention. I have high hopes that [the movie] will be worth it, and that it will be a wonderful one.
