March 2025 TRAI Drive Test Shows Jio Tops in Call Setup Success and Data Speeds, While Airtel Records Lowest Call Drop Rates
New Delhi: Jio has outperformed its competitors in the latest TRAI drive tests conducted in March 2025, emerging as the top telecom operator for both voice and data services. The tests evaluated networks across various cities, highways, rail routes, and coastal areas.
In call setup success rate and speed, Jio ranked highest across all test routes. This means Jio users experienced the fastest and most reliable voice call connections during the assessment period.
Jio also led the data performance segment, offering the best download speeds on every route tested. It also delivered the highest upload speeds in five out of seven routes, making it the most consistent provider for mobile internet.
Airtel, while trailing Jio in data, topped the charts in call quality. It recorded the lowest call drop rates and best speech clarity, making it the most reliable for uninterrupted voice calls.
BSNL, however, failed to outperform other operators in any category. Its performance remained below average in both voice and data services.
The TRAI tests covered major regions including Mumbai, Chennai, Prayagraj, Srinagar, and Indore. The results provide a real-world picture of how each operator performs in different environments across India
