Fourth Stimulus Check 2025: Will Americans Receive a Fourth Payment?

Fourth Stimulus Checks 2025: As of June 2025, the U.S. federal government has not confirmed any new round of stimulus checks.

Despite growing discussions across social media about a potential fourth stimulus payment or a proposed “DOGE dividend” from former President Donald Trump, there has been no official legislation passed by Congress or updates from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to validate these claims.

Many Americans are still wondering if a $2,000 stimulus check or another relief package could arrive in 2025. In February, Trump hinted at the idea of issuing $5,000 checks to taxpayers as part of a “DOGE dividend,” a plan reportedly linked to budget savings found by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

However, this plan remains speculative and has not been introduced as a formal bill or financial aid initiative.

If you haven’t yet claimed past stimulus payments, the IRS has already closed the window for those who were eligible for the third stimulus check ($1,400 per individual).

The final deadline to file a 2021 tax return and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit was April 15, 2025. Extensions were not granted for unclaimed credits beyond that date. Any remaining unclaimed stimulus funds from previous rounds have now reverted to the U.S. Treasury.

Currently, no fourth stimulus check is scheduled for June or the rest of 2025. Federal tax refunds remain the only direct payment option for eligible Americans. Those who filed their 2024 tax returns by the April deadline may still be waiting on refunds. According to the IRS, refunds via direct deposit typically arrive within 21 days of e-filing, while paper check refunds may take up to 6–8 weeks.

For those tracking their IRS tax refund, the IRS provides an online tool called “Where’s My Refund” at irs.gov.

The tool allows taxpayers to check the status of their refund by entering their Social Security number, filing status, and the exact refund amount. Refund updates are posted daily, and once approved, most payments are processed within a few days.

It’s important to note that no official fourth stimulus payment has been included in the 2025 federal budget proposals, and bipartisan support in Congress for such payments remains low. Financial relief conversations are still ongoing in some state legislatures, but nothing at the federal level has moved forward as of early June.

Until confirmed otherwise by the Treasury Department or the White House, Americans should be cautious of viral posts promising stimulus checks. Any updates will be communicated through official IRS channels. For now, the best course of action is to ensure you’ve filed all required tax returns and monitor IRS updates for any future credits or relief opportunities.
