Falcon 9 Sends 28 Starlink Satellites Into Orbit From Cape Canaveral

SpaceX successfully launched another batch of Starlink satellites Thursday night, April 24, from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Liftoff occurred at 9:52 p.m. from Launch Complex 40 under ideal weather conditions.

The mission, Starlink 6-74, deployed 28 more satellites into low-Earth orbit, expanding the company’s growing global internet network. This marked SpaceX’s 33rd launch from Florida in 2025.

The Falcon 9’s first-stage booster completed its 23rd mission, landing smoothly on the drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitasjust over eight minutes after launch. No sonic booms were heard in Central Florida due to the offshore recovery.

The 45th Weather Squadron rated launch conditions as 95% favorable, and the countdown progressed without delays. Fueling began around 30 minutes before launch, signaling a locked-in schedule.

This mission follows a busy week for SpaceX, with two other launches on April 21—one to the International Space Station and another rideshare flight. SpaceX also launched a rocket from California on April 20.
