Erie Insurance— Erie Insurance has once again demonstrated its deep commitment to community development, donating $900,000 to 22 local non-profit organizations through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. The funding, announced on Wednesday, is aimed at strengthening educational opportunities for children from Pre-K through high school in the Erie region.
The grants focus on improving access to quality education, supporting innovative programming, and building strong community connections—especially among organizations located near Erie Insurance’s downtown campus.
“We are able to see the results in real time,” said Jenny Geertson, Community Outreach Director at Erie Insurance. “Education is an important equalizer. These programs are essential for kids across all age groups, and many of these organizations are our own neighbors.”

Local Organizations Benefit from Erie Insurance’s Support
One of the major recipients of the funding is the Experience Children’s Museum, which plans to use the grant to expand its educational outreach to older elementary school students—specifically 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.
“EITC funding is an amazing way for nonprofits to expand their reach,” said Ainslie Brosig, Executive Director of the museum. “This specific grant will allow us to focus on the museum’s unique history as a former livery and help inspire kids to become inventors and entrepreneurs.”

The museum anticipates a busy summer, with officials noting that up to 30% of visitors during the season are tourists. The new programming supported by Erie Insurance’s grant will be integrated into its summer and school-year offerings, helping children learn through creativity, history, and innovation.
Employees Invested in the Mission
Erie Insurance’s involvement goes beyond just financial support. Many employees serve as board members and volunteers at the recipient organizations, reinforcing the company’s mission of being “Above All in Service”—not only to policyholders but also to the broader community.
“Helping fellow community organizations is a core part of who we are,” Geertson added. “Our employees take pride in being involved, and it strengthens our entire region when we invest in the future of our children.”
A Long-Term Commitment to Education
The EITC program allows companies like Erie Insurance to direct tax dollars toward educational improvements in their communities. By continuing to participate in this initiative, Erie Insurance is helping to bridge opportunity gaps and enrich the lives of thousands of children across Erie County.
