Fresh off a fantastic rookie season, Indiana Fever standout Caitlin Clark lives up to the buzz following her to the WNBA following a strong undergraduate career with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Having being the top pick in previous year’s WNBA draft, Clark was voted the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and received All-WNVA First Team accolades. She guided the Fever to its most wins in a season (20) since 2015 and enabled it to break a seven-year postseason drought.
Though the opening night of the 2025 WNBA season is just over two months away, Clark seems to have wasted no time getting ready for her encore performance.
Fans were immediately drawn to a picture that sports photographer Bri Lewerke of Clark uploaded on the sidelines observing her alma mater play. It even amazed Lewerke, who said, “someone’s been in the weight room.”
Based on his WNBA official website listing of 6-foot and 152 pounds, Clark seems to have gained muscle throughout the offseason. Viewing what year No. 2 would look like for the 23-year-old left fans both amazed and eager.
But other supporters turned it into fuel for the continuous rivalry between Clark and Angel Reese by aiming a dig at the Chicago Sky striker.
One reply hailed the Fever star for “putting in the work,” while criticizing “others” for podcasting instead of “improving her game herself.”
With averages of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, Clark closed out her first campaign. From the field, she scored 41.7%; from beyond the arc, 34.4%.
Her first year is outstanding following four years at Iowa where she averaged north of 26.6 points per game every season. Clark’s college career came to an end with a strong senior season averaging 31.6 points, 8.9 assists, and 7.4 rebounds.
