BCCI Announces Revised IPL 2025 Schedule: RCB vs KKR to Kick Off Action on May 17


The BCCI has officially confirmed that the IPL 2025 season will resume on May 17, starting with a high-voltage clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The tournament had been temporarily paused last week due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, but following a ceasefire agreement over the weekend, the path was cleared for the league to resume.

The BCCI, after speaking with top government and security officials, announced the revised IPL 2025 schedule on Monday evening.

“We are grateful for the efforts of our armed forces and all stakeholders who’ve made it possible to safely resume the league,” the board said in a statement.

Key Dates in the Updated IPL 2025 Schedule

  • May 17: RCB vs KKR – Bengaluru
  • May 18: Doubleheader Sunday – RR vs PBKS (afternoon, Jaipur), DC vs GT (evening, Delhi)
  • May 24: PBKS vs DC – Jaipur (rescheduled match)
  • May 27: Final league match – LSG vs RCB – Lucknow
  • May 29: Qualifier 1
  • May 30: Eliminator
  • June 1: Qualifier 2
  • June 3: IPL 2025 Final

The playoff venue details are still to be confirmed, but all other matches will be played across six cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow.

What’s New in the Revised Schedule?

Out of the 17 remaining matches, four will be played at neutral venues, including:

  • CSK vs RR – Delhi
  • PBKS vs MI – Jaipur
  • SRH vs KKR – Delhi
  • PBKS vs DC – Jaipur

The league will feature two doubleheaders, both scheduled on Sundays to make the most of weekend viewership.
